Challenge
A company leader offended others in a group meeting, damaging the previously positive workplace culture. The incident threatened team cohesion, employee morale, and the organization's culture.
Solution
AGC conducted a full assessment of the incident and determined this issue was out of character for the leader and not indicative of a pattern of behavior. As such, the next steps were to implement a comprehensive recovery strategy focused on rebuilding trust and returning to high productivity levels:
Intensive sensitivity training for the leader
Coaching on strategies for mending working relationships
Individual meetings with effected team members
Group leadership training on crisis management strategies and rebuilding trust
Facilitation of reconciliation
Results
Through deliberate interventions over several months, the AGC team enabled the organization to successfully:
Restore trust and positive working relationships between leadership and the meeting participants
Enhance awareness and communication across the organization
Reestablish the group meetings with full participation and engagement
Develop new team-building traditions, including community-building sessions that have expanded throughout the organization
Create a stronger and more resilient company culture that proactively addresses challenges
Follow-up assessments confirmed the team returned to its previously positive and collaborative atmosphere, with many participants noting that the company has emerged as a better workplace through the recovery process.
